Rau

This here is my newest peice of drawn art. I created it with a #2 mechanical pencil, uni-ball vision micro, ultra-fine sharpie, silver gel pen, and a 3.8 mm mechanical eraser (I love those things). The stupid axe took me a little over an hour to finish because I had to carefully and meticulously color in the thing peice by peice, the inking took little to no time at all, and the actual drawing itself took aroudn 3 or so hours. My biggest complaints, personally, with this is the axe is too small (yes, you heard me right) and the face. I was trying to get a more angry, mean face but ended up being a friendly looking bloke.

A little backgroung on the character...
Rau (also called Guise-of-Bear) is a Lunar Exalted (For more info on Exalted, check out [link], the games publisher), one of the chosen of Luna, the goddess of the moon. Lunars have the ability to shape shift into nearly anything, given the proper circumstances, but it easiest for them to turn into their totem animal (in this case, bear) and the human-totem hybrid combat form. The downside to this, though, is the closer they come to their totem animal the more it shows on them (hence why he has bear ears). The silver patterns are moon silver tattoos that the lunar exalted tattoo on themselves to protect themselves from the Wyld zones (areas of pure chaos) and other things that might try to warp their shape. He weilds a Grand-Grimcleaver (big anime über axe) and wanders creation doing whatever the hell seems to appeal to him at the time.

Some of you may look at this and go "hmm, that looks familiar" and you're probably noticing a similarity between this Rau and the one from Mark of Kri, in which case you'd be right. That character was an inspiration for this one.
